4 REASONS WHY YOU HAVE CREATOR'S BLOCK

Oh no I didn't make a mistake in the title. I meant to say creator's block.

We've all heard of Artist's block and the most famous, writer's block but if we're being realistic and much, much more inclusive, I'd say this happens to every creative. Every single person creating something gets to a point where they feel stuck, blocked, dry, empty, as though they've lost their touch or something. Its completely normal!

If you're like me, you probably experience severe frustration when you get to this point because you feel as though you're nothing without the things you do. [Read blog post "The Struggle Is Really Real" for reassurance]

But there are reasons why this may be happening. Based on my own personal experiences, I have listed a few of them for you.

1. Lack of inspiration

I've spoken to my Instagram family about this a few months back [follow me @mpwrd.by.mcw]. I let everyone know that inspiration is the process of being mentally stimulated to do something (completely different to being motivated.) Maybe you need to watch some of your favorite shows, artists, read your favorite poems or engage in something that will spark the electricity in your mind to get you thinking again.

2. Disconnection from our source

Our source—God, The Creator who is infinite and never runs out of anything. There are times when we get so caught up in what we're doing that we forget our purpose in doing those things and through whom we are working. Remembering to dedicate time to our Heavenly Father is necessary to always be able to perform at our best.

3. A change of season

Maybe God is trying to place your focus elsewhere for such a time as this. There may also be other things that need your attention and a break from constant creating is deemed necessary. Slow down, breathe and find your bearings.

4. Burnout

Have you considered that you're overstimulated, overworked and need time for personal self care? If you aren't taking time for yourself, you won't be operating at your full potential. Check your mental health, as well as your physical health and remember that YOU are more important than your work.

Whatever the reason for your creator's block, don't fight it, it's happening for a reason. Also, remember that you are only human and this happens to literally everyone, you aren't alone and it isn't the end (she says to herself lol).
